Lauren always knew she wanted a career in the makeup industry. Growing up outside of Scranton PA, she was initially drawn towards makeup for a couple of reasons. "My mom was always really into makeup, so from a young age I would sit and watch her put a full face on every day. I was also a dancer. One of the main reasons I loved the recitals was because I was able to wear makeup, and see how it transformed my features. As I got a little older, I started doing my own makeup for recitals, which was one of the first times I was able to experiment with it."

   

     Lauren graduated from Tyler School of Art at Temple University with a Bachelor of Science in Art Education. "When I enrolled into college, I knew I wanted to work in the makeup industry after, which is why I studied art. Growing up, I've always used painting and drawing as an escape from reality, almost like a form of meditation."

 

     After college Lauren worked for CHANEL Beauty in Philadelphia, PA for two years before deciding to further refine her skills at Cinema Makeup School in Los Angeles, CA. "Working in retail has helped me tremendously with my makeup skills. In retail, you can't control who comes in and wants a full face. You learn quickly how to put makeup on every skin-tone, skin-type, face-shape and eye-shape."
